Thomas Penn, B.S., M.B.A., J.D.

Director

Mr. Thomas Penn is a partner emeritus in MVP Capital Partners which he joined in 2000 from Boston Millennia Partners, a venture capital firm where he was a partner. From 1994 to 1998, he was President and CEO of Tektagen, Inc., a leading contract services firm serving the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Tektagen was successfully sold to Charles River Laboratories, Inc. in 1998. Before Tektagen, he was President of Independence Ventures, Inc., a firm specializing in starting and building high-potential, technology-based companies. Earlier in his career, he held several industry and venture capital positions.

Mr. Penn has served on numerous corporate boards including ANI Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: ANIP), Northern Contours, Compass Water Solutions, and others, including Friends Life Care Partners.

He currently serves as the chairman of the Life Sciences Greenhouse of Central Pennsylvania and devotes time on Robin Hood Ventures and Mid Atlantic BIO Angels, two leading seed funds targeting life sciences. He is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, and the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
